my path to mindfulness

Hello, my name is Michèle.

Meditation accompanied me on and off throughout my studies, my work, and my years living in the United States. But like many people in their younger years, I hadn’t yet discovered the depth of the practice — the “beef,” so to speak — until I returned to Germany, where I was born and raised.

There was a lot going on in my life at the time. I was feeling off balance, standing at the edge of a new chapter without knowing how to begin. That’s when I remembered: maybe I should start meditating again.
Except this time, I took it seriously. And for the first time, I truly understood how — and why — sitting daily was crucial for my whole being.

Fast forward five years, and I had not only developed a steady and stable meditation practice, but I had made a decision about my future: I could not keep this treasure to myself.

There are so many people out there suffering, and I wanted to share with them what I had spent most of my adult life learning — that it’s not only okay to dig deep through therapy or self-help, but that there is a path you can walk.

A path where every question, every turmoil, every pain, anxiety, fear, or despair can be met — not necessarily eliminated, but acknowledged, softened, and even befriended.

We learn not to get rid of the pain, but to dance with it

Through meditation and mindfulness, we begin to shift our relationship to difficulty. We learn to live with more space, clarity, and compassion — even in the midst of struggle.

It requires work.
It requires steadiness and conviction.
But it doesn’t require you to become a Buddhist or move to Tibet.

In the very life you are already living, you can change.
You can reconnect.
You can find center.
You can find freedom from attachment and habit.

That’s when I enrolled in the two-year MBSR teacher training program at the Zentrum für Achtsamkeit in Stuttgart. Since 2024, I am a certified MBSR teacher and member of the MBSR-Verband e.V., a community committed to integrity and quality in mindfulness teaching.

Not only am I now offering the toolbox of mindfulness to others, I continue to walk my own path of spiritual and personal growth.

This site contains practical information about my course offerings, and I look forward to adding blog posts, reflections, guest contributions, and links to inspiring resources I find along the way.

Welcome to my page — I’m glad you’re here.
